InvalidObjectReference error when installing a product - 2005-05-06 |
When installing a product (i.e. CMFBoard, but it is not the only one), Plone may raise an InvalidObjectReference error.
Technical explanations might be found at google://InvalidObjectReference.
To be more pragmatic, we would say that this bug "disappear" when restarting the Zope instance. Hence, if you encounter this problem, tell us (in the tracker or in the forum) the name of your account and the products you failed to install and we will install it for you.

Can I use my own domain name for my Objectis site ? - 2005-05-06 |
Short answer: not yet.
Long answer:
In order to allow the use of www.mydomain.com to access mysite.objectis.net, two steps are necessary:
- The name
www.mydomain.commust be configured to resolve (DNS) to the IP address of the Objectis web server. - A Virtual Host configuration must be set in the Objectis web server for the domain
www.mydomain.com, so that requests made towww.mydomain.comthrough Objectis are served using the site atmysite.objectis.net.
While step 1 can be accomplished by the owner of the domain www.mydomain.com, step 2 should be done by the Objectis administrator.
Unfortunately, for now there is no automatic procedure for configuring virtual hosts for personal domains. Moreover, the Objectis team is not ready to support the charge of managing a manual configuration.
Work is in progress to provide this service in a future Objectis major upgrade.

How to display the Chinese version of objectis.org web site ? - 2005-05-06 |
Internet Explorer
The best method is to download Microsoft's free language packs and input methods for Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Installing these language packs will automatically set up Internet Explorer for Chinese.
Netscape
From main menu, select "Edit", then "Preferences". In the window that appears, select "Appearance" and "Fonts". First select "Simplified Chinese" for the encoding, and choose "MS Song" or "MS Hei" for the proportional and fixed length fonts. For the "Traditional Chinese Encoding", select "MingLiU" as the font. Selecting a larger font size might also be easier on your eyes.

Why isn't the ZFoo product available? - 2005-05-06 |
here is a big quantity of Zope products. We do not know them all. If you think that a product may be really useful on Objectis, please check out the following points:
- is this product stable?
- is this product maintained?
- is this product compatible with the Zope and Python versions used on Objectis?
- is this product really necessary?
If you answered "yes" four times, then a developped argued message in the forum may convince the despotic managers of the service ;)
|

This product caused many problems (security and ZODB integrity) on objectis service and has been removed.
